The Harlem Shake, a meme that has taken the Internet by storm, has a new local entry.
Southampton Historical Museum Executive Director Tom Edmonds uploaded the museum's own Harlem Shake video to YouTube on Friday. As is typical for a Harlem Shake video, the scene starts with a room full of people casually sitting, while seemingly failing to notice one person who's dancing. Then, the video jump cuts to everyone in costume and dancing.
The video was shot inside the museum's Rogers Mansion, while four people sit and have tea, and Edmonds stands watching a piano player and a dog wanders the room. Museum research center manager Mary Cummings, donning sunglasses, dances. After the jump cut, the scene gets wild, with a white-sheeted "ghost" with two canes, people wearing Revolutionary War-era style garb, and more.
Southampton High School and Ross School previously made Harlem Shake videos of their own
