Parade of Lights Is Saturday

Fire departments compete for the best decorated float.

Southampton Village's annual Parade of Lights kicks off Saturday at 4:45 p.m., followed by a tree lighting at by NBC4 news anchor and village resident Chuck Scarborough.

The parade will ride down Windmill Lane, Nugent Street, Main Street and Jobs Lane, with firetrucks covered in holiday lights from Southampton and East Hampton town volunteer fire departments. The department with the best decorated firetruck is awarded with a trophy.

After the parade, at 5:15 p.m., the tree at Agawam Park will be lighted. The lighting ceremony is followed by a party with Santa Claus at the . The 's will be open at the time as well, for "hearthside cheer."
