Thiele Hosting 'Toys for Tots' Drive

Donations can be dropped off at Bridgehampton office.

Starting on Nov. 26, State Assembly Fred W. Thiele Jr.'s district office in Bridgehampton will collect donations to the U.S. Marine Corps Reserve "Toys for Tots" program, which distributes gifts to children for the holidays.

Donated toys should be new and unwrapped, and dropped off between 9 a.m. and 5 p.m. weekdays before Dec. 14. The office is located at 2302 Main Street, Suite A, Bridgehampton.

"I am so proud to be a part of such a fine organization that helps make the holidays special for children who are less fortunate," Thiele said. "I encourage residents to take part in the Toys for Tots program and drop off a new, unwrapped toy to my office.  If everyone does their part we can make this holiday season a magical one for children all over Long Island."

According to Thiele's office, Toys for Tots was established in 1947 by the Marine's Los Angeles Reserve Unit to collect and distribute toys to less fortunate children whose parents were unable to provide presents for them. Since its inception, Marine's nationwide have distributed nearly 435 million toys to needy children.
