Mandy and Alex Fine celebrated their last New Year's Eve as a family of two. Mandy, a special needs teacher and former Hamptonite, will give birth to her first child on March 22, 2011. She said she doesn't know if it will be a boy or a girl, but is looking forward to a healthy and happy baby.
Hampton Bays' Margaret Julian went online and learned of the Southampton Inn's breakfast and immediately called her friend Martha Scriven-Campanella from Southampton to join her. Scriven-Campanella said she ran the now-defunct Hamptons Opera Company and now she is looking forward to running the new Animal Shelter Thrift Shop on Jobs Lane opening in 2011.
Shelter Island's Sara Nightingale will be showing her art on Main Street in Bridgehampton in 2011 and exhibited Maggie Simonelli's new painting "Water" at the Inn. Both artists predicted that "more people will buy more art" in the new year.
