Southampton Hospital to Award Blood Donors With Free Wellness Classes

Donate Feb. 21 and receive a free month of classes at Ed & Phyllis Davis Wellness Institute in Southampton Village, including yoga, Pilates and Tai Chi.

To urge more eligible donors to give blood at Southampton Hospital's blood drive on Feb. 21, the Ed & Phyllis Davis Wellness Institute is offering a month of free classes at its Southampton Village location.

The blood drive will take place on the hospital's third floor, in the teaching center, between 7 a.m. and 5:45 pm. Walk-ins are welcome.

Eligible donors can be as young as 16, with parental permission. Donors must weigh at least 110 pounds, be in good health and meet all Food and Drug Administration and New York State Department of Health donor criteria. People older than 75 may donate with a doctor's note, according to the New York Blood Center.

Donors are asked to bring a photo ID and know their social security number.

After the blood drive, donors may call 631-726-8800 to claim their voucher for a one-month unlimited pass.
