Southampton Hospital Gives Furniture to Community Center

As hospital cafeteria is renovated, tables and chairs get donated.

If you've spent any time in the cafeteria at Southampton Hospital, you may recognize the chairs and tables at the new community center at St. Michael's Apartments in Amagansett.

Southampton Hospital has undertaken a renovation of its cafeteria, and has donated its gently used chairs and tables to the community room at the senior housing complex next to St. Michael’s Lutheran Church in Amagansett. In addition, some of the tables and chairs are also being donated to the East Hampton Food Pantry in Windmill Village.

"Part of the vision of St. Michaels housing is beyond apartments for low income seniors," said St. Michael's pastor, the Rev. Dr. Katrina Foster. "The vision includes the building of community among the neighbors at St. Michaels and the neighbors in the larger community. Because we now have beautiful tables and chairs from Southampton Hospital we have a place to gather, to share conversation, food and fellowship."
