Southampton Gears Up for 4th of July Parade

The banner is hung over Main Street — the Southampton Village Independence Day Parade is coming soon.

The parade begins at 10 a.m. July 4, but it's always a good idea to arrive early to reserve a spot on the sidewalk to watch the floats, bands and fire trucks go by, because the event draws huge crowds.

The floats, vehicles and marchers begin their route at Railroad Plaza, by the train station. The route takes them down Main Street and Jobs Lane in the heart of the village.

Following the parade, WPPB 88.3 FM is having a community event outside the public radio station's 71 Hill Street studio.
