SHARE: Seals Spotted in Southampton This Season

See photos and videos, and share your own.

Have you come across any seals on local beaches this winter? The sea mammals are known to migrate through this way annually.

If you spotted a seal, leave a comment below, sharing when and where. If you happened to grab photos or videos of the seal, upload them here for everyone to see.

Southampton Village resident Chris Broich starts us off with a photo captured Friday around 5 p.m. on the beach along Meadow Lane in the village. The seal is white and gray, with black spots — almost like a Dalmatian.

Chris, nice photo! You should send it via email to The Riverhead Foundation For Marine Research. I wonder if this is one of the seals they released last spring...

I should also mention that CRESLI, Coastal Research and Education Society of Long Island, also ask people to report seal spottings. Here is their website: http://cresli.org/
