PHOTOS: Salamander Seining at SoFo Natural History Museum

Naturalists of all ages gathered to see what creatures keep Vineyard Pond alive.

More than 25 curious adventurers gathered in and around the Vineyard Pond to see what 's giant net would reveal. The seining yielded: Five Eastern tiger salamander larvae, several bullfrog tadpoles, two juvenile painted turtles and a variety of insects such as dragonfly larvae, water boatman, backswimmer and water beetles.
