Under new Chairman Robert Grisnik, and emceed by Bill Jones, the Southampton Village Commission on Veterans' Patriotic Events held its first ceremony since the .

Southampton Village native and veteran Peter H. Cheney, who served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War, received a proclamation from Southampton Village Mayor Mark Epley for his service to country and community.
