November's Weirdest: UFOs and Streakers

Some stories are downright strange. Here's our wrap-up from around Long Island.

As a local news organization, Patch covers stories of all kinds, from heartbreaking tragedies to inspiring tales of community brotherhood. But some stories are just plain weird. Here are some of the stranger headlines from the past month.

Please Remove All Guide Dogs From the Aisles

A blind man and his guide dog were removed from a US Airways flight from Philadelphia to MacArthur Airport that was eventually entirely cancelled after being ordered by a flight attendant to “stow” his guide dog Doxy under his seat on Nov. 13.

UFO or WTF?

Bayport’s Marc Rubin was riding his bicycle when he saw a white ball falling from the sky over either Patchogue or Sayville Monday.

“This thing I had absolutely no idea what it was,” Rubin said in a NBC New York report. “It had this little curlicue tail at the top and was coming straight down at a 90-degree angle.”

Cops Bust Streaker

A naked man jumping in front of cars on Route 112 near the Long Island Expressway in Medford was seen by residents Saturday morning around 8:10 a.m.

A resident sent into Patch the embedded video of a male standing in the middle of Route 112 as he leaps in front of cars that swerve around him.
