As part of our year in review, let's look back at some of the biggest headlines of 2013.
1. Cops: Jennifer Lopez's Stalker Found Squatting in Her Pool House
A man whom police said is stalking actress-singer Jennifer Lopez was arrested at her Water Mill house in August. Southampton Town police said workers at the house called police after a suspicious man was found on Lopez's property on Aug. 8.
2. County to Madonna: Stop Cutting Through Preserved Land
The Queen of Pop doesn't rule the land in Suffolk.
The county planning department issued Madonna and a Bridgehampton construction company a cease-and-desist letter in August because the county said that an access road violates preservation law.
3. Woman Dies in County Road 39 Accident; Lane Reopens
A woman who was behind the wheel of a Chevy SUV involved in an accident with a Hampton Jitney in Southampton on County Road 39 has died, police confirmed on July 25. She was later identified as Carissa Castillo, a 29-year-old mother of two from Shirley.
4. Jitney, Garbage Truck Collide in Southampton
Two were sent to the hospital after a Hampton Jitney and a garbage truck collided on County Road 39A on July 29 in an accident that closed down a stretch of the busy road for nearly five hours, according to police.
5. Bieber Brawls in Southampton
Justin Bieber found himself skirting more trouble, this time in the Hamptons.
The pop superstar who has been tabloid fodder recently for his antics reported ripped off his shirt and brawled with a fan while partying at South Pointe nightclub in August.
6. Person Found Hanging From Tree in Bridgehampton
A body was found hanged by a rope from a tree in front of the Butter Lane Barn in Bridgehampton on May 11.
7. County Probes Hepatitis Case at Driver's Seat Pub
A server at the Driver's Seat in Southampton was recently diagnosed with Hepatitis A, possibly exposing patrons to the virus and prompting a health department investigation, the county said on Aug. 29.

9. Police: Armed Men Storm North Sea Home, Leave With Cash
Police said it was just before midnight on Oct. 15 when two men barged into a home on Widener Lane carrying a revolver and a shotgun. The homeowner was in the house at the time of the robbery, according to the police report. Police said the two men grabbed $1,500 in cash from an envelope inside the home as well as the keys to a Ford vehicle, and then fled. The report did not indicate that the vehicle was taken.
10. Car Mows Down Dinosaur, Cow Statues
A driver in the parking lot of Yesterday's Treasures, a statue store on County Road 39 in Southampton, accidentally smashed into several statues in June, damaging or destroying several of them.
