My name is DanAngel and I am Secretariat's great-grandson.
I came to be at Amaryllis Farm when I was injured trying to win races as my granddaddy did. I am a little horse, but my heart is big and I tried with all my might.
My owner found Amaryllis and sent me here to avoid the typical slaughter that awaits unproductive horses. For more than a year my guardian dug deeply into the farm bank account to supply my numerous medical needs. I had ulcers and almost lost my life more than once. My guardian said I was special and meant to be part of Amaryllis. Everything I do in life, I do with all my heart. I have overcome incredible adversity and with the help of my constant companion, 34-year-old Trooper, I feel that the future holds health and happiness now. Old Trooper eases my worries. He has seen it all!

I live on the special sanctuary because I still get sick in a stall, but I am fat and growing up and get to wear awesome blankets donated for me! I have no support for feed or anything and I would love to ease the burden a little from my guardian.
There are so very many horses needing financial support. I would love to be visited by my sponsors and I will always whinny and run over to my friends. Thank you for helping our not-for-profit horse sanctuary. Most people don't understand about horses, that we need even more care and support than other animals.
