Mark your Calendar: Shinnecock Bay Celebration

The Shinnecock Bay Restoration Program is inviting the community to learn more about its restoration programs at a family-friendly event, set for Sunday at the Greek Orthodox Church of the Hamptons.

The free event, which will run from 11:30 a.m. to 2 p.m., will feature touch tanks, fish identification games, coloring activities and refreshments.

The event, the restoration program stated, aims to raise awareness about the problems facing the bay, including brown tides and the most recent reappearance of the Rust Tide, as well as let the public know about the restoration programs that the organization is working in conjunction with the School of Marine and Atmospheric Sciences at Stony Brook University.
