Listen to WPPB's 'A Christmas Carol' Radio Play

The Charles Dickens classic is adapted for radio by 88.3 FM and available for download.

If you missed this month's broadcasts of Peconic Public Broadcasting's audio adaption of "A Christmas Carol," recorded last year in the radio station's Southampton studios, don't fret, because you can still find it online to listen anytime.

The one-hour abridged audio play can be downloaded by visiting peconicpublicbroadcasting.org or by clicking here.

With the belief that radio is the "theater of the mind," WPPB's production was inspired by Orson Welles' 1939 Campbell Playhouse adaptation, according to producer Bonnie Grice.

It was directed by Michael Disher, the artistic director of Center Stage at the Southampton Cultural Center, and engineered by Kyle Lynch.

The cast includes Dan Becker as Scrooge; Josh Gladstone, the artistic director of The John Drew Theater at Guild Hall, as the narrator, Marley and Fezziwig; Paul Bolger as Bob Crachit; Barbara Jo Howard as Mrs. Crachit; Katie Kneeland at Tiny Tim; Tristan Vaughan as Scrooge’s nephew and young Scrooge; Brooke Alexander as the Ghost of Christmas Past; Rosemary Cline are Scrooge’s fiancee and Crachit’s daughter; Meryn Anders as Scrooge’s sister, Fan; Terrance Fiore as the Ghost of Christmas Present; Rupert Stow as a collector for charity; Julia Tyson as two different children; and Brendan O’Reilly, the editor of Southampton Patch, as Belle’s husband.

the best Christmas Carol was the '51 film with Alistor Sims as Scrooge... the worst Scrooge film ever : George Scott - lousy acting. Charles Dickens knew about near-death experiences, a Christmas Carol is very much like an NDE.

What's the matter, Maud, didn't think anyone would call you out on your lunatic conspiracy theory?Read More Your entire thesis is steeped in teaparty bs and supported by links to youtube nuts and right wing organizations. You dispute global warming because you are a shill of corporat liars who use your ignorance to promote their agenda. Yours is at textbook case of science denial "There are a number of areas of science where the evidence has become so overwhelming that a scientific consensus forms. For example, the consensus on the link between smoking and cancer, that HIV causes AIDS or that humans are causing global warming. Where there is a scientific consensus, there are often movements that deny the scientific evidence. All of these denialist movements have been found to share 5 common characteristics, including cherry picking, conspiracy theories and fake experts."
