July 11: Find Out the Scoop on Accessory Apartments

See a drive-in movie Monday or Patton Oswalt.

The sun will rise at 5:27 a.m. and set at 8:22 p.m. Low tide is at 10:07 a.m. and 10:59 p.m. at Shinnecock Inlet. High tide at is at 4:45 p.m.

Attend a public forum for residents of Southampton and East Hampton towns on the results of each town's accessory apartment laws Monday night in Bridgehampton, take the kids to see a drive-in movie in Southampton Village or go see a stand-up comedian in Sag Harbor.

1. The League of Women Voters of the Hamptons is hosting a free public forum titled “” at 7 p.m. at Hampton Library in Bridgehampton. The program will bring residents up-to-date on the differences and success rates of the accessory apartment laws established in the Town of Southampton in 2002 and East Hampton in 2007 and will discuss current issues resulting from these laws.

2. "Despicable Me" is screening at in Southampton Village for a drive-in movie night. Gates open at 7 p.m. and the movie begin at dark. Donations are $40 per car load and cars must have FM radio for audio transmission. Purchase tickets in advance at the office on main street or at the gate. Parking is on a first-come, first-served basis. Dinner, snacks and soft drinks will be available at the Coopers Beach Cafe. Alcohol, coolers and barbecues are not allowed.

3. Stand-up comedian Patton Oswalt performs at 8 p.m. at in Sag Harbor. Oswalt has appeared on his own comedy specials on Comedy Central and HBO and has made appearances on Late Night With Conan O'Brien, Seinfeld, and NewsRadio. He was also a writer for MADtv and has written for the MTV Music Video Awards. Tickets are $65.
