Jan. 4: School Sports, Government Meetings

Wake for Katy Stewart is today.

It is a somber day for the Sag Harbor community as residents pay respects to a little girl who died Thursday.

1. There will be a wake for of North Haven today from and from at Yardley & Pino Funeral Home in East Hampton. Katy passed away after battling a rare liver cancer.

2. Come back to Southampton Patch this afternoon for a look at 's new basement mural, which transformed the walls of an otherwise dreary basement into beachscapes. The mural was donated by the artist family behind Heather Dunn & Co.

3. There are seven local high school and middle school sports games going on today. Check out the sports section in the Southampton Patch calendar for the times and locations of all seven of today's games, and come out to show your support.

5. The will meet at 7 p.m. at the library. Last month, the committee invited developer Bob Morrow to its meeting to discuss his proposed King Kullen grocery store for County Road 39 in Tuckahoe. The committee was in opposition to the project, citing, among other objections, the potential traffic it will create near the school.
