Hamptons Agenda: Artists and Writers Softball, 'Artists Choose Artists,' Antique Auto Show

From Montauk to Westhampton Beach, here are some of the hottest events happening in the Hamptons this weekend:

MONTAUK

BENEFIT:
In a benefit to “keep Montauk beautiful,” the Montauk Village Association presents live music with Nancy Atlas, a martini bar, local beer tasting, both live and silent auctions, hors d'oeurves, “and a great time” at   Friday from 6 to 9 p.m. Admission is $100.

ART EXHIBITION:
The Montauk Artist Association hosts a free art show all weekend on the pastoral green in downtown Montauk. Hours are Friday from noon to 6 p.m., Saturday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Sunday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.

MUSIC:
Vince Giordano and the Nighthawks return to on Friday and Saturday from 10 p.m. until 1 a.m. South Edison promises their Americana-pop-swing blend, familiar to fans of NPR’s “A Prairie Home Companion” and the award-winning HBO series Boardwalk Empire, will have the place swinging

ART EXHIBITION:
Outeast Gallery & Goods will have an opening reception for Letty Nowak’s exhibition Saturday from 6 to 9 p.m.

AMAGANSETT

SHOPPING & BENEFIT:
Jarlath Mellet and Shannon Hoey, owner of New York Vintage, have partnered to curate an exclusive shopping event Saturday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Shoppers will sip Veuve Clicquot while shopping vintage pieces from YSL, Chanel, Hermes and more. Ten percent of the proceeds go to UNDP/Red Cross for Somalia.

LECTURE:
Gary Reiswig, the author of The Thousand Mile Stare:
 One Family’s Journey through the Science and Struggle of Alzheimer’s, will speak at Amagansett Free Library Saturday at 6 p.m. For generations Reiswig’s family has suffered the horrible fate of early on-set Alzheimer’s. Reiswig was one of a handful of family members who did not carry the gene. The event is free.

LECTURE:
Beekeeper and owner of Bees' Needs Mary Woltz will give a talk Saturday from 10 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. about the challenges of keeping bees. If it rains, the event is canceled. Parking is on Deep Lane. The group will meet at the farm stand at Quail Hill Farm.
 The event is $5 for adults and free for children.

BENEFIT:
Amagansett Food Institute hosts a “Farmers Fare” benefit Saturday from 6 to 9 p.m. at Amber Waves. Appetizers prepared by local producers will be served, as well as refreshments, followed by dancing.  Tickets are $25 to $250. The Amagansett Food Institute's mission is to bring Long Islanders closer to their farmers, fisherman, vinters and the bounty they offer on the East End.

BENEFIT:
The Amagansett Village Improvement Society is celebrating its 90th anniversary Saturday from 7 to 11 p.m. with a benefit cocktail party and dinner dance at . $50 in advance, $60 at the door

SPRINGS

ART EXHIBITION:
The Springs Improvement Society and the Art Committee for the Springs Invitational hosts the 44th Annual Artists of The Springs Invitational Exhibition at Ashawagh Hall through Aug. 21. Esperanza León curated more than 100 artists' work.  Saturday from 4:30 to 5:30 p.m., León will lead a curator’s tour of the invitational.

MUSIC:
A micro festival of acoustic music will be played to raise awareness of the rebuild the bridge project. Gene Hamilton, Job Potter and guests will strum up some good vibes. Free for all.

EAST HAMPTON

BENEFIT:
London Jewelers presents "The Pet Project," a fundraiser for the Animal Rescue Fund of the Hamptons at Friday from 6 to 9 p.m. Guests are invited for cocktails with special guest Dr. Rhonda Parker, the state chair of Alabama Voters for Responsible Animal Legislation. FILM:
, in association with the Hamptons International Film Festival, presents "L'Amour Fou" Friday at 8 p.m. According to the synopsis, it is about Yves Saint Laurent's fashion legacy and his collection of art that was auctioned off by his partner Pierre Bergé after his death in 2008. It was considered "the auction of the century." Alec Baldwin will host, followed by a Q&A with Simon Doonan, Barney's New York Creative ambassador-at-Large, and Cintra Wilson, an author and cultural critic.

RELIGIOUS:
Join the Jewish Center of the Hamptons Friday at 6 p.m. at in East Hampton for Kids' Shabbat on the Beach Services.  The whole family is invited to join JCOH to welcome Shabbat through learning, music and fun with Rabbi Zimmerman and Cantor Stein.  Each week JCOH completes a different Mitzvah Project in order to help with Tikum Ha'olam (repairing the world) as well as learn about Jewish faith and values. 

YOGA CLASS:
Tsuyumi Aikawa teaches a 75-minute yoga class Saturday at 8 a.m. at , , which is open to student of all ages. Participants should bring a mat and a blanket. They can purchase $15 tickets online or at the gate.  

LECTURE:
Christina Haag will discuss her memoir Come to the Edge, which focuses on her relationship with John F. Kennedy Jr. The event takes place at the Saturday at 1 p.m. Reservations are recommended.

BENEFIT:
A Fun-filled, family friendly all-star charity softball game will take place Saturday from 2 to 5 p.m. at   in East Hampton. This long-standing Hamptons tradition benefits three local charities: East End Hospice, East Hampton Day Care Learning Center and Phoenix Houses of Long Island. The star- studded line-up includes: Alec Baldwin, Christie Brinkley, Countess Lou Ann de Lesseps, Jim Leyritz, Josh Charles, Greg Bello, Lori Singer, Rod Gilbert & Many other familiar faces. Admission is a suggested donation of $10 per person.

MUSIC:
A “well-traveled” musical recollection featuring Christine Andreas and her husband Martin Silvestri at he piano will be presented Saturday at 8 p.m. at . Tickets are $65, $50 or $38.

LECTURE:
Paul will talk about the connection between Judaism, Jewish traditions, and every type of building, including synagogues, at the  Sunday at 10 a.m.

SHOPPING & BENEFIT:
is hosting a high-end tag sale by the company White Goose Estate Sales on Friday from 4 to 6 p.m. and Saturday from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. The sale will include the household contents of a recent high-profile house sale (home furnishings, decorative items, and children’s items). There will also be antiques from high-end dealers. A portion of the proceeds will be donated to the Amagansett Food Institute, which promotes sustainable food and farming and environmental education on the East End of Long Island.

BENEFIT:
The Max Cure Foundation for Pediatric Cancer Causes' third annual Roar For A Cure Carnival will be held Saturday from 2 to 6 p.m. at in honor of the late . There will be a country-style picnic, a rock wall, mini golf, games, inflatables and an auction. Along with founding chairs Richard Plotkin and David and Annemarie Plotkin, the celebrity chair is actress Kelly Rutherford and designer and TV host Nate Berkus as the honorary chair. "A Spectrum of Creativity" for Awe in Autism starts with a gallery reception of nine artists with autism. SEMINAR:
Time for Lyme, an organization dedicated to funding and promoting research for Lyme and other tick-borne diseases, hosts a free seminar and networking reception titled “Lyme Disease in the Hamptons, What You Need to Know” on Friday at 3:30 p.m. at .

The eighth annual "On Our Toes in the Hamptons" benefit for the Evidence, A Dance Company will include a performance by Ronald K. Brown's internationally acclaimed dance troupe. CARNIVAL:
The 22nd annual family day Wild, Wild West Carnival for the Albert Einstein College of Medicine of Yeshiva University will be held at the . Pony rides, carnival and video games, family and WiFi photos, art activites, giant slides and inflatables, a toddler area, food, and much more are at the carnival. Test your basketball skills at the Knicks Groove Truck and learn dance routines with Knicks City Dancers. The event is Sunday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

FARMERS MARKET:
The Hayground School Farmers Market is held each Friday afternoon from 3 to 6:30 p.m. in Bridgehampton.

FESTIVAL:
The and Amaryllis Farm Equine Rescue will host the Bridgehampton Country Fair with a dozen folk artisans to perform, plus there will be pony rides, goat cart rides, a petting farm, food and vendors. All proceeds will benefit the senior sanctuary horses at Amaryllis. The event is Saturday between 10 a.m. at 4 p.m.

SOUTHAMPTON

The Endangered Species Coalition will hold the first annual Hamptons benefit Saturday at 7 p.m. Denise Wohl, Arden Wohl and Tom Sachs will host the event at the Wohl family home in Southampton. Sachs is creating a limited edition print for the event specifically and all guests will receive a t-shirt he designed.Tickets are $250. To attend the VIP pre-party cocktail from 6 to 7 p.m. costs $500.

BENEFIT:
The third annual Evening of Smiles cocktail party and live auction raises money for Operation Smile, providing life-changing facial surgery worldwide. Tickets range from $50 to $250. Tables are $2,500. The event is Saturday at 7 p.m.

MUSIC:

FISHING & BENEFIT: The Hamptons Offshore Invitational at will benefit Big Brothers Big Sisters of Long Island through Sunday. Boats will fish for Bigeye Tuna (minimum of 100lbs), Yellowfin tuna (minimum of 30lbs), mako shark (minimum of 125 pounds), albacore (minimum of 30lbs), mahi (minimum of 5lbs), bluefish (one day category only, minimum of 5lbs), tag/release marlin, and there will be a special Wahoo award. OUTDOORS:
