Grab & Go Kids Planner: Play with Clay, See the Next Hampton Idol or Take the Daffodils Hike

Spring is in the air.

Spring has finally arrived, and with it some kid-friendly activities. Sign your little one up to make a planter or get the whole family in line for a hike in Noyac. It really doesn't matter what you chose, as long as it's getting warmer, right?

Why Go:
The eighth grade is gearing up for a class trip to Washington D.C. in April, and needs to raise some money. Help them out and eat as a family all at the same time.
Pricing:
$8 for adults, $6 for kids.

Where/When: , Saturday, 8 p.m.
Why Go: Come out and support students from Sag Harbor to Eastport in this fifth annual vocal competition. You just might know the next Hampton Idol! 
Pricing:
 $10 with a donation of canned goods.

Why Go:
 Kids 8 and older can channel their creativity into making something useful for spring  — a planter to hold flowers they'll grow for Mother's Day, perhaps?
Pricing: Free.

Where/When: , Saturday, noon to 3 p.m.
Why Go:
The long-awaited greenhouse at the school is finally complete, and just in time for spring. The school community will get together for a ribbon-cutting and celebration. This is the perfect even for a family to attend together. Entertainment will be provided by Alfredo Merat and the Bridgehampton Marimba Band. There will be a potluck lunch, so bring a dish to share. Hampton Library will conduct book readings, and kids can get their faces painted or plant. State Assemblyman Fred Thiele and Southampton Town Councilwoman Bridget Fleming will speak. Brian Halweil of Edible East End will give the keynote address.
Pricing:
No charge, donations welcome.

Where/When: , Saturday, 10 a.m.
Why Go:
Spring has just arrived and the Southampton Trails Preservation Society will take you on a 3-mile hike on the beach in Jessup's Neck. The hike will take approximately two to two-and-a-half hours.
Pricing:
The hike is free and open to all. Society membership is $20 a year, $35 for a family.
