Fundraiser Planned for Keith Greene's Children

Memorial pig roast and horseshoe tournament is Sept. 22 in North Sea.

To benefit his children, a pig roast and horseshoe tournament are planned Sept. 22 in North Sea in memory of the late , who at a Southampton Village beach Aug. 15.

The 35-year-old Hampton Bays resident was a Southampton native and the chef at in the village and in North Sea, as well as a competitor on the second season of "Hell's Kitchen," going by the nickname KGrease.

His daughter, Avery, is 2 years old, and his son, Aiden, is nearly 1 year old. Greene worked alongside wife, Kristen, and mother, Marge, at Schmidt's.

The proceeds of the benefit will provide for Avery and Aiden's future. To attend the pig roast and enter the horseshoe tournament, admission is $50 per player. For just the pig roast, entry is $20.

There is also a 50/50 raffle underway, $2 per ticket or $10 for six tickets, and the winner will be announced the day of the tournament. Raffle tickets are available at both Schmidt's locations.

The event begins at 1 p.m. on Sept. 22 at the .

Greene's friend Andrea Pizzanelli is working on a containing photographs and first-hand accounts by Greene's family and circle of friends, as a gift to the children. Those wishing to contribute can email Pizzanelli at ahhhndrea@gmail.com.
