'Food Revolution Day' Dinner Planned Friday in Bridgehampton

Slow Food East End plans celebration at Bridgehampton School greenhouse.

Celebrity chef Jamie Oliver's “Food Revolution Day” is Friday, and Slow Food East End is observing the event with a potluck dinner and cooking demonstrations at the Bridgehampton School greenhouse.

"It's a chance for people to come together within their homes, schools, workplaces and communities to cook and share their kitchen skills, food knowledge and resources," organizers stated. "Food Revolution Day aims to raise awareness about the importance of good food and better food education for everyone by focusing on three simple actions — cook it, share it, live it."

Nadia Ernestus of Hamptons Health Coach, chef Bryan Futerman of Foody's in Water Mill and natural foods chef and food activist Bhavani Jaroff will provide the cooking demos. The Bridge Marimba Band will perform.

The demos and supper will be between 5 and 7 p.m. Friday. Guests are asked to bring a fresh local entree, side dish or dessert that six to eight people can share.

The greenhouse is located at 2685 Montauk Highway, Bridgehampton. RSVP on Facebook.
