Places To Send Your Kids for Spring Break

Need somewhere your children can spend spring break? Look no further.

With spring just two weeks away, we’ve compiled a list of a few, great places where your children can spend spring break.

1. Southampton Youth Services

offers a spring break camp at its headquarters in North Sea from April 18 to April 22. The camp runs from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Campers much bring their own lunch. The cost is $60 per day or $250 for the week. For more information, call 631-287-1511.

2. Parrish Art Museum

in Southampton Village will hold daily workshops from 10 a.m. to noon for kids in two different age groups, 4 to 6 and 7 and older. A snack will be served during each session. Space is limited and advanced registration is required. Each day will focus on a different theme as follows:

April 18: Landscape Painting
April 19: Mask Making
April 20: Spring Printmaking
April 21: Painting and Collage
April 22: Sculpture Inspired by the Garden

The cost is $35 per workshop, or $25 for museum members. Call 631-283-2118 to register.

3. Children's Museum of the East End

in Bridgehampton will offer classes during spring break each day at 10 a.m.

April 18: Henry the bunny will be available for photos and kids can make their own Easter cards.
April 19: Kids can create bird houses.
April 20: Apple Pie Dessert Quesadilla is on the menu. Kids will learn to make it themselves.
April 21: Kids will decorate flowerpots and put pinwheels in them.
April 22: Easter cupcakes will be made and eaten.

The cost is $17 per child per class, including the cost of museum admission. For museum members, the cost if $5. Registration is required. Call 631-537-8250.

4. Sportime of East Quogue

is offering a Jr. Multi-Sport program for your children, ages 6 to 14.  The camp will run daily through the week of April 17 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Lunch is provided. The cost is $60 per day or $250 for five days for members and for non-members, the fee is $90 a day and $400 for five years. For more information, call 631-653-6767.

5. Quogue Wildlife Refuge

is offering a Spring Break camp at its facility at 3 Old Country Road in Quogue from April 19 through April. 22 for children ages five to ten.  Camp will run each day from 9 a.m. to noon at a cost of $30 per day or $100 for all 4 days. During camp, children will explore and discover wildlife as well as hike the refuge’s trail system. Campers must bring their own drinks and snacks.  For more information, call 631-653-4771.

6. Camp Edey and Camp Sobaco

The Girl Scouts of Suffolk County are holding a spring break program that includes, crafts, songs and games from April 18 through April 22. Camp will be held at Camp Edey in Bayport for girls in grades K-6 and at Camp Sobaco in Yapank for boys and girls in grades K-6. Children do not need to be Girl Scouts to attend. Camp is held from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. The cost is $155 for registered Girl Scouts who are Fan Club members; $165 for registered Girl Scouts; and $177 for non-Girl Scouts. 7. Baiting Hollow Scout Camp

Baiting Hollow Scout Camp in Calverton is offering a sleepover camp for Boy Scouts from April 17 to April 22. The week includes meals, special presentations and merit badge projects. The boys will sleep in either tents or cabins. The price is $250 for the week. Aside from sleepover camp, Baiting Hollow also offers a day camp opportunity for Cub Scouts that will run from April 17 to April 22 from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. The price for this program, which includes lunch and a snack is $240.
