Construction of New Animal Shelter Slated for September

A new day is dawning for the dogs — and cats — in Riverhead Town.

Riverhead's second dog park is set to open Saturday at a ceremony from 1 p.m. until 3 p.m. at the upper parking field at Stotzky Park.

Denise Lucas, founder of the Riverhead Move the Animal Shelter, who has worked tirelessly to raise funds both for new dogs park and a new shelter for the town's animals, said this week that Saturday's kick-off is the prelude for more good things to come.

Diddy's Stalker Caught Near His East Hampton House, Again

Sean "Diddy" Combs' stalker may be taking the hip-hop mogul's song, "Bad Boy for Life," a little too seriously.

Quamine T. Taylor, who was first arrested at Diddy's house 12 years ago and then again last year, was arrested in East Hampton, again, after police investigated a report of a suspicious person in Combs' Northwest Woods neighborhood on Friday evening.

Hampton Bays Man Claims Group with Justin Bieber Assaulted Him

A Hampton Bays man told Southampton Town police on Sunday that a group with pop superstar Justin Bieber beat him up outside of a Southampton nightclub, following an altercation inside. 

The alleged victim told police that eight to 10 men attacked him after he threw a rock at their car outside of the South Pointe club in Southampton early on Sunday morning.

Vice President Joe Biden Takes Summer Break in Southampton

Vice President Joe Biden is spending another summer vacation in Southampton.

The New York Times reported that the White House confirmed Biden would be staying in Southampton until Sunday. No word whether he is staying at the house on First Neck Lane, where he has stayed in the past. 

The FAA issued a temporary flight restrictions for the area due to "VIP movement" from Monday through Aug. 12.

Biden has made at least one trip to the South Fork for the past few years. Last August, he attended a fundraiser hosted by Nathan Lane for President Barack Obama's re-election campaign at the home of Ellen Chesler and Matthew Mallow in Bridgehampton.

During previous trips, he often ventures out to dine at Southampton restaurants or for a round of golf.
