Dec. 15: Fire District Election Results, a Police Funeral and a Blood Drive

Bridgehampton Fire Department is asking residents to give the gift of life today.

On this Wednesday you can drop the kids off at the library to play Wii while you give blood in Bridgehampton, and check out Southampton Patch for election results and a new column. Also today, The Southampton Town Police give a final farewell to a fallen brother.

1. Commissioner elections took place yesterday in the ,  and  fire districts. Check back with Southampton Patch later today for the results.

2. Today marks the debut of ' Southampton Patch column, "." The column focuses on local history and the people and places that have made Southampton what it is today. In her first entry, Cummings gives the history of  and what came before it. The subject is especially appropriate because the hall will celebrate its 100th anniversary in 2011. Come back at noon to check it out.

3. Frederick "Woody" Cantrell of Noyac, a 24-year member of the Southampton Town Police who , will be laid to rest today. begins at 11 a.m. at on South Main Street, Southampton Village.

4. The is hosting a today between 2 and 6 p.m. Visit the firehouse on School Street in Bridgehampton to give the gift of life.

5. It's  at the  in Bridgehampton. Between 4 and 5:30 p.m., kids 10 and older can play on a big screen with the Nintendo Wii gaming console. Snacks will be provided by the library. Advanced registration is required for Wii Wednesdays, so call the library at 631-537-0015.
