Coming up at Rogers: Learn To Use the iPad or Write a Memoir

Fred Weinberg leads Middle East discussion and Reynolds Dodson discusses his new book.

The adult programming department at in Southampton Village has events this week on learning how to use the iPad, writing a memoir, discussing Middle East conflict and a local author's new book.

Gabrielle Selz, an award-winning writer, will run a on Saturday from 10:15 a.m. to 2 p.m. in the Cooper Hall Board Room.  Writers at all levels are invited; the workshop will explore the various styles of contemporary memoir — finding your voice; identifying your theme; determining the overarching shape; the writing process; and the ethics of telling the truth. Reynolds Dodson, a columnist, will talk about his book, A Cockeyed Guide to the Hamptons, on Wednesday, June 15, at noonSince 1996, Mr. Dodson has been delighting and infuriating local readers with his witty and acerbic observations of life on the East End.  His new book has been praised by reviewers as “hilarious” and a “dead on” view of the Hamptons and its inhabitants.
