Church Live Streams Sunday Services

Bridgehampton Presbyterian Church turns to Internet to increase outreach.

For those who can't make it to church, but don't want to miss the readings and sermon, is now offering a live audio stream of Sunday worship.

The stream is available on the church's website, bridgehamptonpc.org, at 10:30 a.m. each Sunday. Past services can be downloaded, either in full or as abridged versions with just the highlights.

“The live streaming of our worship is just one way in which we are enhancing communication,” said the Rev. Peter Sulyok, the pastor of Bridgehampton Presbyterian since the spring. “We are always looking for ways to increase our outreach among our members and out into the community. The objective is to be more open, welcoming, inviting, and involving.”

The idea to record worship services started with the church committee People Evaluating Web Success, or PEWS.

The church has also started a Facebook page and emails a weekly "E-Pistle" newsletter to subscribers.
