Celebrate Southampton History at Harvest Festival

Mark your calendar for Sept. 28 and Sept. 29

Southampton's history runs deep and on September 28 and 29, the Southampton Historical Museum will share its knowledge of 19th century Southampton at its Harvest Festival.

The Harvest Day Festival will feature demonstrations, music, antiques, and a tractor show.

The following is a schedule of events.

Harvest Day Fair
The fair will be held on Saturday, Sept. 28 from 11:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. at Rogers Mansion, 17 Meeting House Lane. It will feature a variety of activities "that harkens back to a simpler, hands-on era where children and adults will pitch in to make or observe decoy carving, beekeeping, blacksmithing, candle making, basketry and many more traditional skills. A Civil War Militia will shoot rifles and the Shinnecock Nation who will perform sacred drumming."

Antique Farm Machinery Fair
On Saturday, Sept. 28 at the corner of Windmill Lane and Nugent Street, from 11:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., the Long Island Antique Power Association will be showing a variety of antique steam and gasoline engines that fueled farm tractors and threshing machines since the 19th century.

Southampton Antiques Fair

On Sunday, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. an antiques fair will be held at the White House, 159 Main Street. It will feature antiques, furniture, jewelry, vintage clothing, glass, ceramics, artwork, and a variety of collectables will be sold inside and on the lawn of the White House.
