Candlelight Vigil Set for Thursday Evening

Southampton High School Honor Society to hold vigil at 6:30 p.m. Thursday in Agawam Park.

Southampton High School's National Honor Society has announced it will be hosting a candlelight vigil on Thursday evening.

The vigil is slated to begin at 6:30 p.m. in Agawam Park, and is open to "All who wish to show respect for those lost and love to those who remain," according to Southampton School District's website.

"Bring your positive thoughts and prayers and a votive!"

On Friday afternoon at the Hook Mill, where 26 Christmas trees were set up on Monday to remember the victims, a community gathering will be held  The East Hampton Clericus will attend and provide support, said Mayor Paul Rickenbach in a statement. The public is invited to bring a candle and one tree ornament.

And Friday morning in Marine Park at 9:30 – exactly one week after the shooting – a Multi-Faith Vigil Against Assault Weapons is being held in Sag Harbor.
