Aug. 4: Wölffer Event Targets Young Wine-Lovers

The sun will rise at 5:48 a.m. and set at 8:02 p.m. High tide is at 11:36 a.m. and 11:50 p.m. at Shinnecock Inlet. Low tide is at 5:23 p.m.

An event designed for young wine-lovers will be held in Sagaponack Thursday, and a documentary screening and director talk is planned in Southampton Village.

1. The Hidden Cellar Society, a Millennial Wine Club at , will host the "" at 6:30 p.m. Stroll through the 55-acre Wölffer Vineyard, learn about the grapes they grow, taste wines with other young wine-lovers and dance the night away to DJ Mattynice. Tickets are $40 per person and must be purchased online before the event.

2. will be screened at at 7 p.m. followed by a visit with the director Josef “Birdman” Astor. Astor moved into an artist studio on top of Carnegie Hall and filmed his neighbors before and during their battles to fight evictions and preserve their community in 1985. Call 631-283-0774 x523 to RSVP.

3. The will hold its regular monthly meeting in the lower level conference room of at 7 p.m. The meeting is open to all. Call 631-283-2638 or more information.

4. Come back at noon to learn about newly adopted state legislation that could save lives at East End beaches.
