Gilda, a 6-year-old Shiba Inu, has been missing since Jan. 7 at noon.

The dog, which looks like a tan fox, escaped from her handler while on a walk. "We need help to locate her," ARF wrote on its Facebook page on Thursday.

She was just recently . She was out for a walk on the ARF trails when she got spooked by a car and took off. She was last spotted on Sunday evening at the clearing closest to the Maidstone Gun Club.

"She is extremely shy and easily spooked," the not-for-profit animal rescue organization said.

Gilda was wearing a purple harness and a red leash that should still be attached.
