April 19: Visitation Planned for Degen; Free Q&A on Raising Healthy Kids Offered

Local nonprofits have spring break events planned for kids.

The sun will rise at 6:05 a.m. and set at 7:33 p.m.

This Tuesday is somber for the friends and family of John Degen as they mourn his loss and celebrate his life.

1. Viewing for , who died Friday at the age of 87, will be from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. at on Little Plains Road in Southampton Village. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Wednesday at 10 a.m. at on Maple Street in Southampton Village. Following the mass, burial services will take place at Saint Patrick’s Cemetery in Huntington.

2. Dr. Andrew Cohen, a chiropractor, will hold in a free workshop that will cover ear infections, asthma, allergies, ADHD and autism. The workshop will take place at in Southampton Village from 6 to 7 p.m. It is free and open to all.

3. SYS, the Parrish Art Museum and the Children's Museum of the East End host spring break classes and camps throughout this week.  See Southampton Patch's list of "." For Tuesday's events.

4. Come back at 10 a.m. to meet this week's "Whiz Kids," Sarah and Shelby Pierson, and then again at noon for this week's "Faces of Southampton" featured person, Brenda Simmons.

5. Also at noon, come back to Southampton Patch for "" with recent home sales prices in Southampton -- and the prices the homes were originally listed at.
