Ahead This Week: Karaoke, Art Show, Leah Laurenti

Also happening in eastern Southampton Town this week, pumpkin painting for kids in Bridgehampton, pub quiz in Sagaponack.

Every day, many readers add community events to our calendar on Southampton Patch and we appreciate it so much because together we can keep the community informed. Each week are going to highlight some of the events to draw attention to them. So mark your calendars; here's what's ahead:

1. EMPLOYEES NIGHT AND KARAOKE

Adam Webb of Who's Next Karaoke and DJ Services will host karaoke Monday night from 9 p.m. to 1 a.m. at 230 Down at 230 Elm in Southampton Village during Employees Night, with a buffet dinner.

2. THE RETREAT'S HAMPTONS JURIED ART SHOW

An opening reception for the Top 25 Group Show for the fourth annual Hamptons Juried Art Show at the Richard J. Demato Fine Arts Gallery in Sag Harbor will be held on Oct. 27 from 6 to 8 p.m. The event is free and all artwork is for sale with a 50/50 split between the artist and The Retreat.

3. MINI PUMPKIN PAINTING

For children ages 5 and up, Hampton Library in Bridgehampton host pumkin painting Wednesday at 4 p.m. "Paint a traditional or a more eclectic design on your pumpkin, then take it home to enjoy," the library states.

4. LEAH LAURENTI SINGS CONTEMPORARY JAZZ AT OSTERIA SALINA

Osteria Salina hosts live music every Thursday presenting Leah Laurenti, American Idol contestant and contemporary jazz singer from 8 p.m. to midnight. Laurenti will perform originals including "Don’t Be Afraid," "Empty Lines," "I Found You" and "November." More information may be found at www.leahlaurenti.net. Beginning at 9 p.m., the Stuzzicchini or late night menu is available.

5. PUB QUIZ AT TOWNLINE BBQ

Townline BBQ has announced their pub quiz night on Thursday nights.  Each participant pays a $10 participation fee, which will be put in the pot for the grand prize. Teams of 5 people may be formed in advance or will be formed at the event with single players. The topics will vary, with general trivia always a topic and other categories such as pop culture, food trivia, music art, geography, famous people and/or a picture round. Prizes will also be awarded throughout the evening. The pub quiz starts at 7 p.m.  All saloon quiz participants will receive a 10 percent discount on non-promotional food to participants during the quiz. Come and test your knowledge!
