5 Dogs That Need Homes for the New Year

Can you give one of these dogs a home?

The Southampton Animal Shelter has many loving pets that are looking for homes for the New Year.  The following are five special cats, who hope that someone will take them home in 2014.

1. Adrienne is very special because she is deaf. This smart 1-year-old knows hand signals.

2. Jackson is a 4-year-old hunk of playful, lovable goofiness. He has been at the shelter for over a year and would make a great sidekick.

3. Cowboy was displaced by Hurricane Sandy. He arrived at the shelter through the ASPCA and is still waiting for a new home.

4. Niki is also a Hurricane Sandy orphan. She is a sweet girl and 5 years young.

5. Popeye has had a "ruff" time of it during his first 9 years of life. Now, he is ready for a Foster or permanent home after SASF took care of him and got him back to good health. He is missing an eye and a foot, but not his good spirit and zest for life.

All animals are licensed, up to date on their vaccinations, micro-chipped and have been spayed or neutered. Adoption fees typically range from $40 to $60 for a cat and from $60 to $125 for a dog.

To adopt any of the above dogs or any of the other animals available for adoption, call the shelter at 631-728-7387 or visit 102 Old Riverhead Road in Hampton Bays.
