ARF Honors Bernadette Peters

ANIMAL RESCUE FUND OF THE HAMPTONS BRINGS TOGETHER ANIMAL LOVERS FOR A SOLD OUT EVENING OF DINNER AND DANCING AT BOW WOW MEOW BALL

On Saturday, August 17th the Animal Rescue Fund of The Hamptons (www.arfhamptons.org) hosted the Bow Wow Meow Ball, an evening of dinner and dancing amidst the 22 acre ARF campus in Wainscott. Guests enjoyed a raw bar and cocktails, followed by dinner and dancing. Over 400 high profile guests from New York and the Hamptons attended the magical evening to celebrate ARF and raise important funds for cats and dogs in need. The proceeds from the event benefitted ARF, the leading animal adoption center on the East End of Long Island.

The evening honored Bernadette Peters, award winning stage and screen star, author and songwriter, as well as the co-founder of Broadway Barks.  Legendary talk show host Dick Cavett emceed the evening and animal activist Beth Ostrosky Stern, presented Bernadette with ARF’s Champion of Animals Award.  The lively crowd danced to the music of Peter Duchin and his Orchestra. Christopher Mason served as auctioneer for the live auction. The large tent was decorated by Michael Grim, owner of the Bridgehampton Florist who donated his talents. Joining in the evening’s festivities was a selection of ARF cats and dogs available for adoption. By the end of the evening $500,000 had been raised in support of ARF.
