TUCKAHOE SCHOOL NEWS
The PTO star tree helps provide clothes and toys for our children in need. It is up in the front hallway of the school for those of you who wish to participate. If you feel a child can benefit from this program, please see our nurse, Mrs. Wendy Meyer, or Ms. Elizabeth Rodrigues. The Student Council will be hosting a “Winter Wonderland” middle school dance on Friday, December 14th. The dance will take place in the cafeteria from 6:00 to 8:00 pm. We hope to see all of the sixth, seventh and eighth graders there! This year’s Holiday Concert for Pre-Kindergarten to 3rd Grade will be on Monday, December 17, 2012 at 7:00 pm. Third graders will play flutaphones and, yes… prekindergarten, kindergarten and 1st graders are performing! This year’s Holiday Concert for 4-8 Grade Choruses and 5-8 Band will be held on Tuesday, December 18, 2012 at 7:00 pm. Tuckahoe’s Student Council is sponsoring a “Holiday Giving Tree.” Please donate beginning November 15th to December 14th the following items for those affected by Hurricane Sandy:
- New hats, mittens, gloves, or scarves
- Toilet paper
- Toothpaste, toothbrushes, soap and toiletries
- Bottled water
- Gift cards
- Canned hams, frozen turkeys
- Stuffing
- Canned fruits and vegetables
The tree will be located in front of Nurse Wendy Meyer’s office. Thank you for your generosity! The PTO Family Fun Night at SYS this year will be on Friday, January 11th (more details to follow).
