Tuckahoe School News - Week of Nov. 26-30

We have exciting news to share about this class of amazing writers! Back in October, we submitted several scary stories to the Southampton Independent.  Three of our third grade students were chosen! Hallie’s scary story was printed, and Ellie’s title received recognition for having a Heinous Headline!  Way to go third graders!  You are all winners!

Parent/Teacher Conferences will be held on Wednesday, November 28th and Thursday, November 29th; students will have early dismissal these two days at 11:23 a.m.

Our PTO Penguin Patch Holiday Shoppe will be open on December 5th, 6th & 7th

This year’s Holiday Concert for Pre-Kindergarten to 3rd Grade will be on Monday, December 17, 2012.  Third Graders will play flutaphones and, yes… prekindergarten, kindergarten and 1st graders are performing!

This year’s Holiday Concert for 4-8 Grade Choruses and 5-8 Band will be held on Tuesday, December 18, 2012.

Tuckahoe’s Student Council is sponsoring a “Holiday Giving Tree.”  Please donate beginning November 15th to December 14th the following items for those affected by Hurricane Sandy:

  • New hats, mittens, gloves, or scarves
  • Toilet paper
  • Toothpaste, toothbrushes, soap and toiletries
  • Bottled water
  • Gift cards
  • Canned hams, frozen turkeys
  • Stuffing
  • Canned fruits and vegetables

The tree will be located in front of Nurse Wendy Meyer’s office.  Thank you for your generosity!
