Tumbleweed Tuesday Is Here

Your guide to what's happening around the community.

Tumbleweed Tuesday has finally arrived. With many students not heading back to school until Monday, this week after Labor Day may not feel quite the same, but things should still be quiet around town this week. Just the way we like it, right?

— First, a look at the weather. Expect areas of dense morning fog. Partly cloudy with isolated thunderstorms possible. High 79F.

— The annual sandcastle contest at Coopers Beach in Southampton Village brought out great imaginations on Saturday. Check out some great photos from readers.

— The High Holy Days are upon us. Rosh Hashanah starts on Wednesday evening, and Yom Kippur starts Sept. 13. Check back later today for a list of High Holy Day services scheduled around town.

— Did you know that there are just nine weeks until Election Day? Believe it! We'll be ramping up our election coverage. Have some requests of what you want to see? Let us know.
