Your guide to what's happening in the community.

Good morning, Southampton.

— Investigators are still working to determine the cause of a fire that killed an elderly man at a house in Sag Harbor Hills on Monday afternoon. Our condolences to the man's family and friends. We are waiting to report his name when police decide to release it.

— We would like to extend a thank you to all the firefighters and EMS personnel who were hard at work yesterday. Sag Harbor firefighters quickly knocked down the fire in the village, and we know it is difficult on all first responders when there is loss of life.

— Southampton Town Supervisor Anna Throne-Holst released her tentative budget for the upcoming fiscal year on Monday. Look for our post at 7 a.m. with information on the $80.7 million budget.

— Having trouble hearing lately? The Hampton Library in Bridgehampton is offering a free hearing screening from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. An audiologist from McGuire's Hearing Services will administer the screening.

— If you live in the Southampton-Tuckahoe-Shinnecock Hills area, the citizens advisory committee meets at the Tuckhoe School library at 7 p.m.

— Here's a story you may have missed from over the weekend. Over 10 pounds of freshly harvested marijuana was discovered during a traffic stop in Water Mill on Saturday night, leading to the arrest of two men, according to Southampton Town police. It has sparked a conversation about marijuana laws. Where do you stand on the issue?
