Shoe-Inn Boot Sale Starts Wednesday

Good morning, Southampton. 

— The weather is expected to better today than yesterday. Except for a few afternoon clouds, it will be mainly sunny. However, a shower or thunderstorm is possible. The high will be 79 F. 

— With the good weather, head to the Hampton Classic on Wednesday. Bring three or more items to donate to the Sag Harbor Food Pantry and get into the show for free. In the kids area, the Bridgehampton Child Care & Recreational Center with read stories focused on people from around the world throughout the day.

Shoe-Inn's boot sale starts Wednesday on the corner of Montauk Highway and David White's Lane in Southampton, at the former Cancos Tile location. Four thousand boots will be sold over six days from 9 a.m. to 5:45 p.m. Prices range from $29 to $1,350. Definitely a sale to check out.

— We heard Bill and Hillary Clinton took a stroll around Wainscott on Tuesday evening. The former President of the United States and former Secretary of State are vacationing in Sagaponack this month. Did you see them? Get a photo?

— Slow Food is expanding its board to 12 members and will be adding two additional leader positions this year. The organization is looking for people who are interested in serving on the committees. To nominate someone, or yourself, click here. You must be a current member of Slow Food USA to be nominated. The deadline is Sept. 5.

— The East End Special Eduction PTO is holding a t-shirt contest for all members' children, and the deadline is fast approaching this Friday. First, second, and third place winners will receive a gift certificate of their choice. The winner will have their design printed on the EESEPTO 2013-2014 t-shirts. The winner will be announced at the fourth annual Family Fun Fair on Sept. 28 and all participants’ work will be displayed. For more info, email eastendsepto@aol.com.
