Sandy Hollow Cove Hearing, Basilica Raffle This Tuesday

We hope this morning note finds you all well rested and ready for the day ahead.

— There is a chance of showers and thunderstorms in the morning, with a possibility of a thunderstorm after 1 p.m. Skies will be cloudy, with a high near 76. During the night, thunderstorms are expected before 11 p.m.

— At the Southampton Town Board's 1 p.m. meeting at Town Hall, there will be a public hearing on altering the plan for Sandy Hollow Cove, an affordable housing development in Tuckahoe.  While the original plan called for condos, the new plan includes one-bedroom rental apartments. The Town Board must sign off on the change. Read about the proposal.

— Only 150 tickets are left in the Basilica of the Sacred Hearts Super Raffle. Two winners will receive $5,000. There will be 10 winners and only 500 tickets are being sold. Additional prizes are $3,000, $2,500, $1,000 and $500. The drawing is Aug. 31, when a big cocktail party will be held for all the entrants.
