Get Ready for the Harvest Full Moon on Wednesday

Your guide to what's going on in the community.

Good morning, Southampton. Wow — it's cold outside. I was hoping for a few more days of summer.

— The good news is it will get warmer throughout the day. The forecast is sunny with temperatures rising towards the upper 60s. Winds light and variable.

— The results are in for the Conservative primary for supervisor with Republican candidate Linda Kabot and challenger Phil Keith tying. We'll follow up with more on this later.

— Meanwhile, Kabot and Keith will face Supervisor Anna Throne-Holst in one of the first debates of the season. At the Southampton Chamber of Commerce's Pancakes and Pundits Buffet Breakfast on Thursday from 8 to 9:30 a.m. The breakfast is held at Seasons of Southampton located on Prospect Street in Southampton Village. The breakfast is $30.

— A reminder for Thursday: The Friends of the Long Pond Greenbelt will host a "Harvest" full moon hike, starting at 8 p.m. It's a leisurely paced one-hour hike in Vineyard Field, behind the South Fork Natural History Museum in Bidgehampton. Refreshments will be served after under the moonlight.

— In case you missed it, last week Patch reported that the Bridgehampton Fire District is selling off a small piece of land in Wainscott at an opening bid of $925,000. Would you pay that for a 60-by-100 feet parcel?
