Budget Reactions, Run Club on This Wednesday

Here's what's going on around the community.

Good morning, Southampton.

— Investigators believe the cause of a fire that killed a 90-year-old man in Sag Harbor Village on Monday started with an electrical issue. Our condolences to the family of Wesley Carrion. We know they are making his final arrangement today. We will post his service information when it is available.

— Any first reactions to Supervisor Anna Throne-Holst's tentative budget for 2014? She's proposing an $80.7 million budget, a $2.3 million increase in spending.

— This was a bit unusual: On Monday, we followed up on a fire in Southampton Village last week. Turns out it started after magnified sunlight through a glass sphere paper weight ignited adjacent papers on a desk. Makes you think twice about what you leave on your desk, right?

— Join an East Hampton run club on Wednesday, starting from lululemon athletica in East Hampton (it's not that far) at 6 p.m. All levels and abilities are welcome to join others for a run around the village.

— Do you know you can post items you're trying to sell on Patch. One mom is selling the bike her daughter outgrew. On Sundays, we post a roundup of all the items that are for sale on the South Fork.
