As long as an employer replaces you with another woman (a younger one or a woman without children) then they have removed themselves from extreme suspicion in gender discrimination complaints. I have been searching for jobs out east here for quite some time and when I have managed to get an interview they inevitably ask about the "gaps" in my employment history! Of course, it was maternity leave. If I lie, I am not trustworthy. Will there ever be a part of our lives when someone is not making assumptions about who we are and what they can expect from us?
