Town Orders Lutnick's Hedges Removed in Bridgehampton

New York Post reports that Cantor Fitzgerald CEO Howard Lutnick put up 10-foot hedges as revenge on neighbors who fought his barn plan.

Southampton Town has ordered Howard Lutnick to remove hedges from his 40-acre Bridgehampton estate after determining that the plantings are illegal because they obstruct his neighbors' view, according to The New York Post.

The Post reports that Cantor Fitzgerald CEO Lutnick's property is a protected agricultural reserve, and he had the privet hedges put in on the southern edge as a revenge tactic against neighbors who opposed his plans to erect a barn.

Neighbors were upset that the barn would block their views. While Lutnick said the barn was a conforming agricultural use for an orchard and vineyard, his neighbors insisted it was really going to garage his car collection, according to The Post report.
