Potter Fans Gather for Midnight Show in Southampton
Excitement and sadness Thursday night as "Harry Potter" ends.
Several Potter fans dressed up in costumes, Quidditch jerseys and homemade shirts for the sold-out midnight showing of Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part II in Southampton on Thursday night.
The movie brings the Harry Potter film franchise to an end. Prior to the premiere, fans said they were excited for the final part but also sad that it's over.
"I've been watching and reading Harry Potter since I was 12," said Alex Ferraiuolo, 16, of Southampton, who was dressed in wizard robes.

Her friend, Kayla Matters, 15, of Southampton, who was dressed as Hermione Granger, equated the end of franchise with the end of her childhood.
Elizabeth Grun, 16, of Water Mill dressed as Harry Potter. She explained why she attended the midnight premiere and went all out with a costume: "I love Harry Potter, and I've read all the books and this is the last one, so it's kind of special."

"It's going to be really good," said Ben Forster, 13, of East Hampton, who was also dressed at Harry Potter. "It's going to be extremely nerve-wracking and I'm excited for Voldemort to die."
