Election Petitions Circulating in Southampton Village
Signatures for village trustee race are due May 11.
March 30 was the first day Southampton Village residents could sign a nominating petition for village trustee, and candidates have until May 11 to collect 75 signatures and turn them in to .
Incumbent Trustees Bonnie Cannon and Richard Yastrzemski are up for re-election to new two-year terms. Cannon was first election in 2006, and Yastrzemski joined the board two years later.
Cannon and Yastrzemski are both members of the Citizens With Integrity Party, which held all five Village Board seats from 2008 until 2011, when , running under the Patriot Party banner, incumbent Trustee Paul Robinson. Trustee Nancy McGann retained her seat as did Mayor Mark Epley, who ran unopposed.

The last day to register with the Suffolk County Board of Elections and be eligible to vote in this year's race is June 5.

Mailed absentee ballot applications must be received at Village Hall by June 8, but they can be applied for in person by voters or their agents up until the close of business on the day before the election, June 14.
May 15 is the last day for potential candidates to accept or decline a nomination, and the filing deadline for the first round of campaign spending receipts. The second filing is June 4 and the final filing comes after the election, on July 12.
