Canal Room Coming to Southampton

Popular Manhattan club will have a Hamptons venue this summer at 230 Elm.

Nightlife entrepreneurs Marcus Linial and Sam Lott of Lower Manhattan's music and party venue Canal Room are headed east this summer, presenting Canal Room Southampton.

The new nightclub will be at , local businessman Tim Burke's establishment at the former Southampton Polish Hall in Southampton Village, next door to the . The venue includes both an upstairs and downstairs bar as well as dance floors and arcade games and tables games such as pool and shuffleboard.

230 Elm can accommodate 800 patrons, compared to 450 at the Manhattan Canal Room, which has hosted guests Miley Cyrus, Jay-Z, Rihanna, Mark Sanchez, Katie Couric, John Mayer and Mariah Carey.

"We are thrilled to offer the same quality entertainment with an even larger venue at New York City's most popular summer destination with the debut of Canal Room Southampton," Linial said.

Linial and Lott say they wanted to provide the Hamptons with a spacious location where vacationers and residents alike can "let their hair down and explore their inner rock star."

The summer lineup includes Friday and Saturday night decade-themed parties with cover bands, from "Back to The Eighties" with Rubix Kube to "Saved by the '90s" with The Bayside Tigers. Also on the schedule are 1970s soft rock cover band Yacht Rock Revue, Tramps Like Us covering Bruce Springsteen, Unforgettable Fire covering U2, Almost Queen covering Queen, and Shakedown, a Grateful Dead tribute band. DJs will spin in 230 Elm's lower level.

Rubix Kube first performed at 230 Elm, in collaboration with Canal Room, last Labor Day weekend, for an end-of-summer party. The band, which has performed with Bret Michaels, MC Hammer, Debbie Gibson and Tiffany, will kick off Canal Room Southampton's season on Friday, June 15, at 11 p.m.

The theme nights will come with signatures cocktails, like the "Vanilla Icey" with vanilla vodka, lime juice, sugar and pineapple juice, and "The Fresh Prince" with coconut rum, orange and cranberry juice.
